Screen cable, also known as shielded cable, is an electrical cable that has one or more layers of shielding to protect against electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI). The shielding is typically made of a conductive material such as copper or aluminum, and it is placed around the cable’s conductor(s) to create a Faraday cage. This cage helps to block external electromagnetic fields from interfering with the signal being transmitted through the cable. Shielded cables are commonly used in telecommunications, data transmission, and other applications where signal quality and reliability are critical.

Electromagnetic interference (EMI) protection: Screened cables are designed to provide protection against electromagnetic interference, which can cause signal distortion or loss in electronic systems.

Noise reduction: The shielded construction of the cable helps to reduce noise and crosstalk between adjacent wires, resulting in better signal quality.

Signal integrity: Shielded cables provide better signal integrity by reducing signal attenuation and distortion caused by EMI.

Improved safety: Shielded cables reduce the risk of electrical shock by providing additional insulation and grounding.

Suitable for high-speed data transmission: Screened cables are suitable for high-speed data transmission, such as in Ethernet networks or digital audio/video systems.

Wide range of applications: Shielded cables are used in a wide range of applications, including power transmission, telecommunications, industrial automation, and medical equipment.
